Horti-Phyte is a liquid fertiliser based on a more efficient and readily available form of Phosphorus, known as Potassium Phosphite.

World-wide, Phosphite-based fertilisers have produced remarkable results and taken the local Horticultural industry by storm. Growers in countries as far apart as Australia, Spain, South Africa and the United States have all discovered the following benefits on treated crops:

The explanation for these remarkable results lie in the chemical structure of the Phosphite molecule itself.

Traditionally, most agricultural fertilisers have contained Phosphorus in the form of Phosphate (chemically described as PO₄). Horti-Phyte, however, contains its Phosphorus in the form of Phosphite (chemically described as PO₃).

This important difference (i.e. the reduction of one oxygen molecule) is believed to permit a much greater solubility and mobility leading to faster and more efficient uptake of Phosphorus across leaf and root membranes.

Additionally, Phosphite is highly mobile within the plants and can be moved very rapidly from treated leaves to the roots and vice versa. This means that, whether applied onto the leaf as a foliar spray or to the roots via soil application, Phosphite fertilisers deliver essential Phosphorus more rapidly and efficiently than traditional NPK fertilisers.

Many horticultural crops are also known to suffer from so-called ‘hidden hunger’ for Phosphorus during periods of active crop growth. Growers have found that one or more applications of Phosphite based fertilisers at critical growth stages have delivered remarkable results in terms of crop performance and plant nutrient health. Although NOT a fungicide, Horti-Phyte will help stimulate lush, healthy plant growth under conditions which favour the development of certain plant diseases.
