Following its qualification for the ISO 9000:2001 quality management registration, the Nu-Trel Group (of which Hortifeeds is a subsidiary) has now been recommended for registration as an “Investor in People”.

Investors in People is the national standard which sets a level of good practice for training and development of people to achieve business goals. It provides a national framework for improving business performance and competitiveness, through a planned approach to setting and communicating business objectives and developing people to meet these objectives.

The Investors in People assessors questioned eleven members of staff on the firm’s commitment to employee development, internal communication and the company’s goals and objectives.

The Investors in People standard emphasises the fact that people are the greatest asset a firm can have, and pushes companies to implement a framework to help develop these assets by planning employee development, implementing action, evaluating the development and providing clear aims for the company and individuals to follow to help with their development.

Daniel Wilkinson, Managing Director, said: “A good team is at the heart of every successful business. We have always recognised that our people are a very important asset, and we are delighted to receive this official recognition of that fact.”
