A Lancashire-based grower of ornamental plants is benefiting from huge cost and time savings since he since he started using Hort-Wet, the super-concentrated long term wetting agent from Hortifeeds last year. Use of this extremely safe wetter has effectively reduced crop watering by 50%.
Suitable for use on all types of growing media from peat and peat bark to coir and hydroponic systems, Horti-Wet is a non-ionic wetting agent design to ensure maximum water management and rapid and even wetting and rewetting. It also effectively reduces dry patch and prevents compost shrinkage.
It is designed for use in a single application per season and has the unique ability to be loaded to last for anything from three to twelve months.

Horti-Wet is available in two formulation granular and liquid. In the granular form a mini vermiculite is used as the carrier enabling it to be easily mixed into the compost without the need for additional watering. In this form it is ideal for the smaller grower who mixes his own compost and in locations where watering compost during mixing is difficult.
The granules are also ideal for top dressing both container- and field-grown stock.
In the liquid formulation, Horti-Wet is ideal for large volume compost production. It is applied at a rate of 25 100 ml per cubic metre of compost or growing media.
Where preferred the diluted liquid it can also be applied by growers as part of the fertigation process and can be used when treating containerised stock over multiple seasons.
